   Disappointed and Frustrated!

   I chose this company over several less expensive options because I trusted their expertise and professionalism — but unfortunately, that trust was misplaced.

   They made poor plant recommendations that quickly became overgrown, and within weeks weeds had penetrated nearly every landscaped area, including right through the weed matting they installed.

   One of my top priorities from the start was solving weed penetration from a previous installation. Drake, one of the owners, assured me this would be “done correctly” and no longer an issue. It wasn’t. They’ve been back multiple times, removed dozens of plants due to extreme weed growth, and promised me a refund for those removed plants — which I still haven’t received.

   To make matters worse, their replanting was sloppy. One plant was literally left on its side and died within days; the others didn’t survive either. When I showed Howard (the other owner) the weeds breaking through, his response was surprisingly aggressive rather than helpful.

   I rarely write negative reviews, but this experience was disappointing from start to finish. I hope sharing this helps others make a more informed decision.

   I want to clarify a few key points for accuracy. The issue was never “lack of weed maintenance.” Weeds were penetrating directly through the weed matting your team installed — not just around the edges, but throughout the landscaped areas — and this occurred within weeks of completion, before I left for the summer. That points to a failure in installation or materials, not a maintenance issue.

   The re-installation you mentioned was not a favor; it was a necessary correction to address the original installation that failed to perform as promised. Unfortunately, the same problems returned soon after.
   I also found it concerning that you referenced private text conversations about reviews, which felt unprofessional and unrelated to the core issue — that the work did not meet the standard or assurances your company provided.

   My expectations were based directly on what your team guaranteed during our consultation: that the new weed matting and design would prevent the same weed penetration problems I had before. It did not. Additionally, I was promised a refund for the plants your team removed which I have still not received.

   The photos I shared clearly show the condition and quality of the work, the extent of the weed growth, as well as the poor replanting result.

   Ah-Mazing!!! Just wow! Southern Landscape has to be one of the best experiences I have had in a long time! The communication, responsiveness, the customer service was all beyond! And the final product!!! More beautiful than I imagined! Completely transformed my front yard! I can t stop looking out my window and all my neighbors say I have the best looking home in the neighborhood:) highly recommend!
