The greenhouse has a rust-resistant steel frame, four shelves and guylines and pegs for wind-resistance

Amazon has reduced the price of a walk-in greenhouse that gardeners describe as ‘amazing’. The Christow Walk-In Greenhouse has a tubular steel frame and four mesh shelves.

It measures H6ft 4in x W4ft 7in x D2ft 4in, providing enough ‘space to walk inside’ when tending to your plants, flowers, fruit and veg. Normally £49.99, the greenhouse has been reduced to £42.49, which is a 15% saving.

There’s 40cm space between each shelf but you can remove the shelves to expand your growing space. Holes in the shelves allow pots to easily drain to prevent plants waterlogging. The frame features rust-resistant steel poles and plastic connectors which click-together for easy assembly. U-clips, guylines and pegs allow you to secure the greenhouse to the ground for ultimate wind-resistance.

An Amazon Choice item, it gets an overall 4.5 star rating from more than 900 reviews. One happy shopper said: “I am absolutely amazed at the quality of this! So amazing, so strong and easy to build. The cover is so durable and strong.”

Another added: “Great product for such a low price. If you want something easy to put together and at a low price for a small greenhouse then this might just be the one. Every pole was in their own bag with A to E or something like that but just follow the instructions, you can’t go wrong. I had mine fitted under the hour.”

A third agreed: “This is fab. I only put my seedlings in so it can bear the weight properly. I love it. It’s resistance to wind is impressive. Although it is rigged down like a tent. The shelf was missing a clip which is a bit tedious but I can always tape it back down. It also makes the garden look smarter. An excellent buy.”

However, one was disappointed: “It was easy to build. However within two days of using it the zip on the side of the door broke leaving it useless and at risk to the slightest wind.. It is not suitable for purpose and a complete waste of money as it is now unusable and will blow away as soon as the next windy day arrives. It is not fit for purpose and I would like my money back!”

Amazon describes the greenhouse as follows: “Create a perfect garden space to propagate seeds and grow your own with this walk-in greenhouse from Christow. It’s great for using on lawns and patios.

“Cover consists of an internal grid sandwiched between two layers of polyethylene. It’s thicker than a PVC cover for greater strength, stability and insulation, but still allows sunlight to shine through to create the perfect growing conditions. It’s also UV-resistant to reduce fading and degradation from the sun.

“Designed with a roll-up door with zippers on either side to easily open and securely close. Simply unzip the door, roll it up and secure it with the integrated ties to improve ventilation and encourage pollination. Leaving it tied open also provides easier access when watering or clipping your plants and flowers. There’s also plenty of ground space to store compost and other essentials.”
