   We chose Backyard Office to build our custom farmhouse office because of the good reviews and we liked the idea of not having to manage the project ourselves. We chose a building that we saw on their instagram page thinking it would be a fairly smooth process since they have built the exact unit before. Unfortunately, we were wrong.

   We ran into issues from the beginning with the foundation and framing. They then built the deck wrong which had to be repaired, along with issues with the dry wall and paint (which were never fully resolved). Overall, the contractor’s work was sloppy and we caught tons of mistakes that the project manager missed. The whole process from start to finish took longer than it should have due to the mistakes.

   The owner (Quinn) was responsive and willing to work with us but if we could go back we would have 100% chosen a different company. We are finally moved in and overall are happy with the office space but it was a painful process.

   Highly recommend the team at Backyard Office and genuinely wish we could hire them to do every home project for us :smirk:

   We wanted to build a two-room office space in our backyard and they came highly recommended. From the start, Quinn was super communicative – leading us through the custom design process and keeping us posted on price the entire way. Once the build kicked off, things moved quickly and Jose became our point of contact. His attention to detail and communication surpassed our expectations – his finished project was perfectly done, a high quality build, with no cut corners.

   It took 10 weeks from the day we signed the contract through to completion, and we were happy with that pace. Now we have a beautiful double office and a massive covered porch to enjoy an after work margarita on. Feels like a win-win!

   Quinn and Jose and their team did a great job and got things done on the schedule that they projected in day one. They were very responsive to all questions and comments, and were genuinely a pleasure to work with. We’re very happy with the finished project (used as an office in the day time and a loud movie/music room at night), and given the quality of construction, we think we got a lot of bang for our buck. I highly recommend these guys.

   After giving up my office to our 2nd child, I spent 6 months researching a handful of different companies to build one outside. I decided to go local, not exactly knowing the benefits of building on site, and I am so happy with my decision. Quinn and Jose are amongst the most honorable and ethical contractors I have ever worked with. They are transparent and responsive. They custom designed my 10 x 12 to accommodate our existing landscaping and building constraints. After completion, and true to their word, have come back twice to address some minor issues.

   If you live in the Austin MSA, hands down who you should engage for your expanded livable square footage needs.

   We are so grateful for Backyard Office! Our casita is everything we could have dreamed of and more. Our project manager, Jose, genuinely cared about ensuring everything was how we wanted. From design to permitting, Quinn and the team took care of everything. Hire this team, and you won’t be disappointed.
