We bought our electric fireplace on a whim and couldn’t be happier. The owner was incredibly helpful and made the process easy from start to finish. The fireplace arrived on time, came with clear, in-depth instructions for our contractor, and works perfectly. Great quality and great service — highly recommend!
We had a wood burning stove removed, the wall behind it built out for installation of a gas fireplace. London worked with us to select just the right fireplace and there was one young man in particular who removed the wood burning stove and worked on the installation that was awesome. The project overall, though, was not smooth, with poor communication during the entirety with me having to call to get things scheduled and to verify the schedule rather than being called with the schedule. The wall buildout was probably the worst part of the project. The dimensions of the wall provided to us were incorrect and the wall ended up being 74″ long instead of the 70″ in the plan affecting the kitchen remodel on the other side of the wall. The final discouraging issue is the taping and mudding of the drywall. We had indicated that we probably would put tile on the wall, but the mudding and taping job is incredibly sloppy and will have to be smoothed and redone even before applying tile. I’ve had multiple contractors in the house for other work and every one commented on the awful workmanship. I contacted Flame Connection and asked that someone from management come to look at the poor workmanship. They had the gentleman who did the poor job call me and tell me he did a good job. No one from management called or came. I was told that the finish work was within the scope of the contract which is to fire tape the drywall. According to the specs I can find regarding fire taping, screws and seams are covered, anywhere air gets through, no excess mud, clean, tidy. We have screws and seams exposed and it’s anything but clean and tidy.
We selected Flame Connection over a competitor because of the ease of selection, knowledge of sales rep and availability. The gas fire log set was in stock and on sale. No waiting for 8 weeks. Installation followed a couple of weeks later. The install crew did a good job, kept job site clean and left it in good shape.
We are very pleased to add our 5 Star Review to the many such you may already have concerning the pleasure it has been to deal with Michael Barcelo and Jonah Logan for our gas fireplace repair. Over the phone, Michael has been most cordial and professional returning our voice messages timely and confirming our appointment date as promised. Jonah called us in advance advising us of his projected arrival time and was right on the mark. Jonah arrived well-groomed, was most courteous and quite personable. His expert diagnosis and effective remedy had our gas fireplace roaring with flames within one half hour. Without question, we do recommend Flame Connection, and Michael and Jonah in particular, to address any and all of your gas fireplace or related needs.
After months of dealing with scheduling issues, my fireplace arrive damaged. I was then told that possibly warranty would cover it. They have cancelled or had some excuse as to why installation couldn’t be done. Now I may be stuck with a damaged product. The customer service is terrible. They say that they will call back, but never have. I have had to call them back each time. At this point, I want my money back. After posting this review, the manager did call me and the matter has been resolved.
