Update: After posting my initial review, the company said they would reach out to resolve the issues described below, but no resolution occurred. Instead, I was contacted about the impact of my review on their rating. When I followed up via text and email asking how the workmanship issues could be addressed, I did not receive further responses.
I hired this company to build a concrete patio and walkway. Based on my experience, the work was not done in a way I was satisfied with, and I regret this decision. Within about a month of completion, I began seeing cracks in the concrete, and it has not yet been three months since the patio was built.
Before the project began, I informed them that I had an in-ground sprinkler system and asked whether lines would need to be rerouted or removed. I was told they would cap the lines and ensure no water flowed beneath the concrete. After the pour, I observed that active sprinkler pipes remained under the slab, with valve boxes left embedded in the concrete that I cannot access. This meant I had no way to shut off water beneath the concrete.
Based on my understanding and subsequent consultations, I was concerned that leaving pressurized water lines under the slab could lead to soil washout, settling, cracking, and difficult repairs requiring the concrete to be broken. I ultimately hired an irrigation company to shut off the water supply under the concrete and install drainage piping so rainwater could flow away from the slab.
I also experienced drainage and grading issues. After rain, water puddles on the concrete and accumulates around it. Professionals I consulted advised that correcting the slope properly may require removing and re-pouring the slab. So, I hired some other people to fix that as well.
Aesthetically, the results were also disappointing. I was told the new concrete would match the existing concrete, but it does not. The old slab was left in place, creating a visible and permanent mismatch, and the height between the old and new concrete near my AC unit was not aligned.
Overall, based on my personal experience, important details were missed that I believe should have been addressed before any concrete was poured. I would not choose this company again.
We selected David Banks and his team at DFW Pool Experts for our pool renovation after soliciting multiple bids for the project. Considering expense, scope and our confidence in David we did not hesitate to entrust him with our project. He helped us understand the various options in materials and guided us through the selection of coping, tile and plaster for the pool, travertine pavers for the patio, and color of the spray texture deck. He was responsive to our questions and concerns. We are very happy with the result and highly recommend DFW Pool Experts for your pool construction and renovations.

I am very pleased with the outcome of my pool. The pool was in very bad shape from past weather conditions. DFW Pool Experts took the time to explain what was needed and how they were going to replaster and replace the tiles and coping. I also needed to replace the skimmer basket and some underground pipes that had broke. my pool was a disaster but this company truly did whatever it took to make it beautiful again. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs any pool repairs of any kind.
Thank you Bart and David
This is a family-run business with two really nice brothers. David handles most of the client business and he was amazing to work with. First of all, he was one of only two companies willing to attempt replacing the old lights in our pool without doing entirely new gaskets and wiring, potentially saving us over $2000. He was very thorough in his research beforehand with the supplier, so he let me know ahead of time that the more expensive solution might still be the only option for one of the lights. I really appreciated his forethought and honesty before sticking me with a charge that wasn’t agreed to. He put his best guy on the job, and in the end, they were actually able to accomplish the cheaper job. Super honest. Super considerate. Super competent. If David handled my job the way he did, I have no doubt he will take exceptional care of you, no matter what service you’re hiring them for.
We’ve worked with numerous contractors over the years who tried to repair cracks in our pool with staples and adhesive, but the leaks always returned. Many others would come to assess the problem and never return.
I am so grateful for David Banks and DFW Pool Experts. They tackled the job head-on and stuck with it until the very end. Thanks to their expertise, we now have a beautifully renovated pool that is finally holding water again! I couldn’t be happier with the results and highly recommend their services to anyone in need of reliable, thorough pool, repair, and renovation.
