The walk-in greenhouse was a huge hit last spring and is only available to buy in store

Gardeners are being urged to run, don’t walk, to Aldi this weekend to snap up their popular walk-in greenhouse, which will be back on sale as a Specialbuy from Sunday, February 23.

The ‘easy-to-build’ model is perfect for budding and seasoned gardeners and was a hit when it went on sale last year. So if you want to get your hands on one it makes sense not to delay, as Aldi says about its Specialbuys: “When it’s gone, it’s gone”.

The greenhouse comes with six shelves to store plants and trays of seeds and the shelves can hold 10kg in weight. The product is 195cm in height and it is priced at £29.99. It also features a roll-up door for easy access and ventilation on days where the weather is good.

Aldi says the greenhouse, which is only available in-store, has an “easy-to-assemble tubular steel frame and a heavy-duty reinforced cover, making it ideal for the keen gardener interested in seed propagation and growing flowers and vegetables.”

The product has been sold seasonally in stores for many years and those who have bought before are impressed. But they have offered some advice to people buying them in the UK.

One fan on social media raved: “I have two! My tips would be tent peg it to the ground and place bricks over the base struts. Cable tie the shelves to the shelf poles. Cable tie the back to the fence vertical posts. The greenhouses do their job perfectly. They just don’t like blustery weather.”

Another customer said: “Got one last year and works well.’ And another shared: This was fantastic. If you buy the 72 standard seedling grow trays and you can grow up to 400 plus baby seedlings on the six shelves with space for small pots as well.”

Ideal Homes Garden Editor, Sophie King, said she can’t wait to get her hands on the walk-in greenhouse this year and told her readers to act fast or risk missing out.

She said: “If you’re wondering whether a greenhouse is worth buying, the Aldi walk-in greenhouse could be the perfect tester. It immediately jumped out to me because it’s far cheaper than similar versions on the market.”

For a similar price, the Outsunny Walk In Greenhouse from Robert Dyas is another option. It is currently reduced from £53.99 to £32.99 and features a clear cover. Click here to purchase.

And if you are on the market for a larger version, the Large Walk In Greenhouse from Christow Home is on offer for £59.49, which is a 46 per cent saving on the original price of £109.99. You can buy it, here.
