This company has been doing the yard at our house for decades, since before we even bought the place. It was beautiful.
Now, there are dead spots on the lawn, untrimmed bushes, and leaves blown into the pool. We pay almost $300/month for them to come over a week. They come some weeks, it feels pretty random, and then they occasionally just sit in their truck for 15 minutes and drive off.
I’ve tried contacting the owner, who never answers, by leaving messages on two separate occasions. I do not recommend this company. My money would be better spent paying a neighborhood kid to come over and mow.
We chose Wasser & Wasser for an extensive landscaping job on our property. The process included a site plan, hardscape, irrigation, lighting, and plant selection based on our requirements. The property we purchased had a half dead grass front yard, a fishpond that no longer worked regularly, ailing boxwood shrubs, several dead trees, and an entry arbor loaded with Virginia creepers that were overtaking the front door. It was like a scene from The Adams Family. The “back” was raw dirt, weeds, browning yuccas, and a mutant vitex that had spread its roots far and wide.
Clearly, our “yard” did not reflect the southwest. The goal was a clean and appealing hardscape design for the least amount of maintenance possible.
For that hardscape, we specified a circular, raised Castle Wall planter with six separate rays to reflect a partial Zia symbol filled with southwestern plants, flagstone pavers, ¾” rock, and precast concrete bowls to hold flowers. A fountain was installed in the circular Zia symbol.
Danny also integrated masonry over an old fire ring that, under the skilled hands of Ruben and Arturo, (brought to us by the property’s original stonemason, John Valdez) morphed into a traditional shot rock-faced pizza oven, matching our 26 year old rock walls beautifully.
In the back, we requested a drainage channel filled with river rock to carry water away from the house, retained original flagstone pavers moved over from the front, and more ¾” rock.
Dustin Richardson oversaw a high skills crew. They worked very hard, and our vision became reality. He always answered our questions in detail, was professional and a wellspring of local acumen.
This was a big job. The landscape specifications we delivered to Wasser & Wasser were completed in late August 2023. The proposal came in the fall. The job was started in January 2024 and concluded in April. One has to step back and admire the multitude of skills (electrical, plumbing, earth moving and grading, low voltage lighting, drainage, plant selection, etc.) that all come together under Dustin’s skilled leadership and Danny’s watchful eyes.
All that effort was so worth it. We have a low maintenance property where we enjoy sitting on the patio at night experiencing a vibe that is every bit high-end resort Zen spa in its clean lines and soft pools of amber lighting.
We would not hesitate to hire Wasser & Wasser again.
Might want to tell your drivers to slow down. Had one of your trucks hauling a$$ by our home the other day in a residential neighborhood. There’s a park right across the street where little kids play all the time. I called the office number to speak with the owner to let him know. Left a message. Never got a call back. Go figure.
Contacted this company in October, the owner and I discussed the new irrigation and plants . Although the owner said two weeks, they first came to our house a month later. We had to call to request the weeds to be cleaned. Meanwhile all the weeds are growing and leaves from the neighbor’s trees are still in the yard. They were supposed to cut the branches from the neighbor’s trees from our yard and charged $300 extra. Unfortunately, they only cut 4 branches and left the rest. Not $300 worth. The owner never calls. It’s been two months now and still need to have landscape maintained. Two guys installed the front yard, totally not what we designed, and wanted 2 birds of paradise. Only one put in and charged way more than the plants are worth! I paid over $2000 for the service. Not worth it! Buyer BEWARE!
The “landscape artists” (yard workers) are very efficient at cleaning up your property. They always check with you to see what needs to be done, any specifics of how you want it done before they start work on your yard. We have had lawn work as well as trimming some trees done. They are very professional.
