Bought 10 yards of 50/50 mix compost/top soil. The soil is kind of compact and it is difficult to get water into it but once it is saturated it holds water very well. My plants seem to love the soil and are growing quite large with no outside fertilization. Had 100% success with both transplants and direct seed planting. There were some large rocks/hard clay balls and a couple pieces of plastic and glass but overall very clean dirt. I’m quite happy with the purchase and I’d recommend this dirt to my friends.

RUN, don’t walk away from this company. Quite possibly the worst customer experience I’ve ever had. Received a phone call from Sam following the delivery literally shouting at me (THE CUSTOMER) that it was my fault his driver was late returning. Seems to me that a driver not using a navigation app to find a delivery location, and subsequently getting lost for 90 mins, is a logistics problem not a customer problem. The audacity to call and tell me its my fault and that any future delivery they’re going to charge me “so much more” for the delivery fee is almost laughable. Sorry dawg, its a no from me. There are other companies getting my future business and I cant recommend strongly enough that you do the same!

Ordered a truck full of compost. It was also full of glass and some plastic. I just moved here and wanted instant gratification so i ordered compost for my garden this summer. It grew plants but now i play a game with my kids of who can find the most glass in garden while harvesting vegetables.

    UPDATE:
Lynn reached out to me and we spoke on the phone. He let me know that they get material from the city and they have to accept it all. He also told me that he has 2 full time employees sorting out the non organic material. He stated that it was not acceptable what I received and he would do what is needed to make it right. I would recommend stopping in and checking out the compost and soils to make sure it is what you expect. I appreciate Lynn going through all the effort to reach out to me and take care of the issue I had.

We bought worms and were very happy with the amount received. They have since multiplied and now our compost tumbler has a perfect amount. Well worth the price. I bought online and so many arrived dead.

I purchased some soil; 1/2 compost & 1/2 top soil from Payne’s Soil yard several weeks ago. According to Sam ” it’s the best I’ve seen in a while”. Well, it’s the worst I have ever had! I went to the Nursery on Camino Alire & asked several employees, also experienced gardeners & was told they would have never used soil from their soil yard.
As I have found it’s hard as a rock, very dense and full of rocks, and I don’t mean little pebbles, we’re talking Rocks up to 8″, and why they use large pumice is beyond me… I have been gardening for over 50 years & will NEVER EVER GO BACK!!! Nothing would sprout I have had to dig in peat, & soil builder.
I would appreciate a response from the OWNER, but wont hold my breath…
