   Jim and team at Mountain West Sales are phenomenal. They care about the customer, which is not so common these days. They sell quality products and take pride in their work. If you need a fireplace or wood burning stove check this place out.

   My husband and I went in today, looking for a surround for our fireplace. We are new to Albuquerque and found this place online and decided to go in and look at a surround mantle we had seen online. The sales person that approached us was not very helpful. We walked around till I found what I had seen online and he says oh sorry those aren’t available anymore and anyway whatever you want, our contractor is booked till spring so I really can’t help you. We asked him several questions that he really couldn’t answer, kept telling us that the only contractor he trusted wouldn’t be available till spring. He did not seem at all interested in our business, we told him we were not in a hurry, and we wanted to know some options for different mantels. All in all he was extremely rude and kept telling us that it was very expensive we told him that we were not concerned about the price and he has attitude just remained weird and rude. Why do they have things displayed if they are no longer available? Perhaps they had n alternative? Salesperson couldn’t even offer that info.

   We have a gas fireplace that stopped working and we called Mountain West Sales. We scheduled a visit and they arrived on time and identified the problem immediately. They carefully removed the glass and fixed the issue quickly. We were very happy with their service and would highly recommend them if anyone requires a gas fireplace serviced

   Just save yourself a lot of stress and go elsewhere. I needed to have a gas burner replaced and went to Mountain West. I went in person, did research ahead of time, once there no one really wanted to wait on me. The showroom was empty and the first gentleman who came out quickly lost interest when I explained I didn’t need a brand new fireplace. He handed me to Wally. Wally was very nice and made an appointment to meet with me the next week. He didn’t show, he didn’t even write down the appointment.

   So I called them back and Josie scheduled a new appointment. Wally showed up and again was very pleasant. We talked about a small new burner and replacing a second burner that didn’t have the Kiva mount.

   Then I waited and waited and waited for a quote. Finally, I called and Josie had to hunt down the quote from Wally. The quote had only the second replacement burner and not the first, smaller burner that wasn’t working. When I asked about it, all I got was that Wally said they didn’t have the right size burner.

   I should have just run away there. 🙁 I did order the replacement burner for the larger kiva. Again, they messed up the order and scheduling. I had to track them down to get the hardware and the service call.

   Finally the installer came and installed the burner, but when I tried to use it, it doesn’t work. So I call and talk to Mountain West, the man on the phone can’t help me because he is only sales. As I ask his name he sends me back to Josie’s voicemail.

   Also, I have emailed Wally about fixing the broken smaller burner as I have found a company that does make a smaller burner. No response, ask Josie to have him call me, no response. Ask the installer about simply installing the small burner. He said he would talk to Wally and I gave him all the burner info. You guessed it………… No response.

   They are always very pleasant but don’t seem to give a damn once you aren’t in front of them.

   Don’t use this place. My gas heater does not blow out any air. I have called and they came out to check on it and said. “Hmm, that’s odd”. And suggested we remove the front panel. They have also said they would get back to me (twice) and weeks later we are still waiting to hear. They did a great job on the facing though but use someone else.
