The food, creativity and ecology centre tucked away behind Townsend Yard has replaced its old greenhouses with a new seed library, barn,ย exhibition space, cafeย and plant nursery.
Around 300 people roamed the site exploring the vegetableย andย ‘skyย garden’, ponds, wildflower meadow, willow circle and indoor spaces including theย exhibition Into Seeds of Time by OmVed artist in residence Vivienne Schadinsky.
Describing itself as a “small garden with big ideas.”ย OmVed has relaunched asย a learning hub offering workshops and sessions in the likes of fermenting, food growing, nature painting, budget cooking, meditation, and pond dipping.
Meanwhile the cafe, servingย seasonal plant-forward dishes using produce from the gardens, will be now be open at weekends.
The site was formerly a garden centre and landscape gardening business but since 2017 the Community Interest Company has ripped up the tarmac and created a learning hub where visitors can get close to nature and think about healthy eating and climate resistance.
