I don’t understand the people who work here’s problem but it’s like they just hate their job! Every time I come in and god forbid I ask any questions, I’m always greater with passive aggressiveness. One time I came in to get a quote and literally was thrown a piece of paper and a pen to give my email. I never received a quote. Don’t waste your time here until they get new staff who actually enjoy engaging with other human beings, take your business to Standard in Albuquerque, over there you’ll be treated like a paying customer. Ask for Jackie!!!
Do they have restaurant supplies? Sure
Can you buy them? For more money than they are worth.
They are unaccomidating, and really don’t seem to care about anyone coming in ever.
After half a dozen times in i can only say that no one wants to be there and feels they don’t want anyone else in there either.
The drive to ABQ for Standard Restaurant supply is well woth it.
Unless this is the worse case scenario I implore you to try somewhere else.
I do not cook, and I do not run a restaurant. I do fix cars, and the intersection between the products they sell and how I can use them in a commercial garage is fascinating. I love my food-safe three tier plastic lil roll-around cart with its soft little wheels, and I love covering it in stupid plastic parts from modern cars during a tear-down to replace yet another Ford 3.5L turbocharger. I love my stupidly heavy rubber grippy mat thing in front of my door that catches all the ice and snow.
And then there’s janitorial supplies, little rollaround squeezy mop bucket things and flippy dippy stand-up dust bins and paper towel dispensers and cheap metal pans with wire racks to let solvents drip down onto and then you can go in the back and be fascinated by how the vertical double-doors of a commercial oven are keyed to open each other, it’s magical.
I don’t know about the prices, maybe they’re high, but I don’t care. Being able to walk into this completely foreign environment and go “hot jesus, I could totally use that industrial giant dishwasher silverware holder thing in the parts washer for lil bolts and stuff” is not something you can get with Amazon, ever. Yeah, it’s probably cheaper, but you’d never find it if you’re a hick like me who doesn’t know what the giant wooden … um… plugs are for.
This is the place I go to misuse things that are not meant for my industry, but turn out to be way better. And one day I’ll get that fancy slushy machine in the front window for our front office.
I encourage all of our customers to visit Chef Link while they’re in Santa Fe, because it is so unique. If I had any recommendations to make to Chef Link, it might be to provide yet more janitorial stuff, since that is shared across all industries and that would attract other customers from other walks of life. I might also ask them to make a flyer or something like that that I can hand out to customers so they can go “Good lord, I’m heading there rn”
They say wholesale to the public, but the prices are on the high end of retail, especially for the lack of customer service you receive. If you show up 30 min before closing they are rushing you out the door, and if you pay with cash you are scolded. Half of the items on the shelve are not priced at all, the other half are priced incorrectly.
This is a commercial restaurant equipment supplier. They sell to the public.
They have been gracious enough to pursue equipment I was looking for that they did not carry.
They have followed up with messages keeping me informed of availability and delivery of supplies I had to wait for. I have been pleased with the quality of all merchandise I have purchased. They are not inexpensive.
All staff wore masks and have implemented safe practices to address covid-19 reopening concerns.
Worth a visit.
