Such a gift to have spring water spots like this in the heart of Austin. $5 for residents. Cash is always quicker than buying on the machines. Wish Deep Eddy was on the ATXswims app – would be better flow when it’s peak busy! If you leave you can come back with a hand stamp or your saved ticket. Parking is generally tight unless you go early morning style. I love biking there on the town lake trail; it’s a fun ride and always VIP parking. Lotsa babies and tots since there’s the wading/shallow portion. No food or drink allowed by the water but you can eat upstairs where you come in. They have a snack window to buy munchies too. Stairs to get to pool but they do have an ADA friendly / families-carrying-strollers kinda entrance – just ask about it if you don’t see it. Good for families for sure and great people watching. Wholesome.

This is an amazing pool with organized swim lanes. The water is clean and fresh – making it one of the healthiest options in the city for organized swimming. There’s an interesting and rich history to the land, pool and bathhouse. Parking can be a little crazy but for me it’s worth it.

Lovely public swimming pool with cool spring water. They refill the pool every few days so the water clarity can vary slightly. Plenty of shaded areas to sit. Definitely recommend to both locals and visitors. Parking can be difficult so you may need to park on nearby Veteran’s Drive and walk. There is also free public parking at the corner of Veteran’s Dr and Atlanta St but be sure to lock your car and take your valuables.

This was one of the coolest things I did in Austin, by recommendation of a local. If you’re not into the live bottom or algae of Barton Springs this is fed by the same water but is filtered and is a regular pool!

I went here today unexpectedly because Barton Springs Pool was closed for weekly maintenance.
Pros – lots of shady spots to sit poolside, water is cool but not freezing, and you can eat food at the upstairs patios. Plus there are restaurants within walking distance.
Cons – water is very shallow, 3-4 feet. Parking lot is small and fills up early so be patient or prepared to park far away.
