Best to look at the menu before you arrive at the restaurant. When you enter, you order at the counter and then find a seat. Complimentary chips and salsa were delicious. I ordered the beef fajita plate and my husband ordered the brisket burrito smothered in red. It took our order 35 minutes to come out. We were in a larger party and people who arrived after us recieved their food so much quicker than us and when my husband went up to ask about it, they said the fajitas take longer. We finally got our food and I was disappointed. Not that much meat and barely any onions and no bell peppers, they use strips of green chile to mimic bell peppers. Beans were good. No rice. Lettuce and guacamole piled on one side of the plate. No tortilla. My husband said his brisket burrito was interesting because the meat was marinated in the BBQ sauce, but then put into a burrito with red chile smothered. Ground beef taco was good. Maybe we will go back and try different things on the menu. Prices were very affordable.
Great little local restaurant! I always get the flautas, but beware they are huge, more like a burrito. First time visiting I made the mistake of thinking they were typical size and ordered 4, when 2 with the beans and rice is more than most can eat. Highly recommend.
Update: Flautas are the bomb, brisket with green chile, so good!
Loved that red and green chile con carne combo plate. Big tip is to look at the menu before you go; you’ll order at the counter. All good.
Ordered the brisket platter and the combination barbecue platter. Potato salad and beans were great. The meat was good, but not as smoked as most barbecue places. Have them put the barbecue sauce on the side because it can overwhelm the meat. Both platters came with bread. Complementary salsa and chips were good. You order at the window and are called up to the window for your order. Brisket burrito is very good also. But don’t forget to make sure you put the sauce on the side.
We had heard good things about Ranchway BBQ for a while but just hadn’t made it there until now. The outside is very deceiving but we were pleasantly surprised as the place was clean and it was busy busy… right at lunch time.
We had a really good experience. Since it was our first visit it took a bit of getting used to because you order at the counter and then take a seat to wait on your food. It was a little interesting because they don’t take your name or give you a number but they did do a good job of keeping track of us.
The chips and salsa was really good. They start you out with a small bowl of chips and salsa and we quickly went through those..but a trip to the counter was all it took to cheerfully get more. The salsa had a little kick of hot but not too much, just perfect for us.
Barbara got the ground beef taco plate with rice and beans. She had a choice of soft or crunchy tortillas and she got the crunchy. Felt they were the store bought kind but that was okay. Her tacos were filled full with meat.. not just a little in the bottom.. lots of meat! She really liked them.
I got my favorite and that is Ground Beef Enchiladas with green sauce. Like Barb’s they were stuffed full of ground beef.. no skimping on the beef. Lots of white jack cheese on top. They only thing that I could have used more of is the green chile sauce which seemed way to light for my liking!
Everything was hot and fresh and we both ate way too much and paid the price rest of the day… ha ha. But we will certainly go back soon.
