The grama grass and livestock beef is amazing. Good steaks with an awesome flavor, but what I really can’t find anywhere else is the quality of their rounds, roasts, and ground beef. Never had a bad experience and love their product. I’ve grilled their steaks, I’ve smoked their roasts for roast beef, I’ve ground their brisket for burgers, and used their round for jerky. Top notch

I have been eating Grama Grass beef for a couple of years now and can really taste the difference, even from grass-fed beef I buy at whole foods or natural grocers. The beef has a more robust and complex flavor as a result of being finished on grass, and often coming from older cows. It’s awesome to be able to drive by and see their cows grazing, as they graze all over the Boulder area and post about the location of the cows on their website! I don’t know of any other beef producers locally who stay so true to regenerative ranching practices, while also still producing delicious beef. Every chance I get, I share this beef with my friends, and they have nothing but gratitude and positive things to say. I have tried almost every cut they offer and some of my favorites aside from the Ribeyes are their Delmonico, Flatiron, and Bavette. We also love roasting the Marrow Bones to spread the marrow on toast, and then making broth with them after. Thank you to all the hardworking people at Grama Grass & Livestock for making it possible for my partner and I to try to many different cuts on the cow, and to feel good about the impact of the beef we consume!

We’ve purchased bundles of steaks and individual steaks from Grama Grass & Livestock since November 2024 – May/June 2025. The 2024 purchases were pretty good. But steaks from the last two purchases mean I won’t continue to purchase from them. I have to always do a fair amount of cleaning up of tissue. There’s also in general been bad butchering and to the extent that there’s a clear argument that the meat is being labeled as a better cut than it is. For example, this cut here is not Flat Iron, it’s chuck.

Given that frozen meat can more easily be mislabeled, I do not recommend people serious about eating healthy, high quality cuts of beef from this business. I purchased from them at two farmers markets.

I can only imagine what this beef sirloin is going to turn out as — I’ll update my post.

What the Grama Grass and Livestock team is doing is truly amazing. Their commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship is exceptional. The quality of meat and beef I have received from them has always been of the highest quality. Every interaction I have had with staff has been great, they are personable and have a wealth of knowledge on the steps they take in animal husbandry and their approach to sustainable grazing.

Grama Grass & Livestock is my favorite source of local, regenerative beef and pork in the Boulder area! Not only are they incredible people with an awesome mission of restoring Boulder County Open Space and producing delicious, grass fed beef, the beef really is delicious. We’ve been apart of their CSA this year which has been a joy to not only have staples in my weekly routines like ground beef, but also to try new cuts of meat that are fun to experiment with and always delicious. I am incredibly grateful for such a mission driven team to be operating out of my area, it’s reasonably priced and they truly love their community. It’s great to be able to chat with employees at the market or while picking up my CSA, and I love joining their community events like potlucks and freezer sales as well. Nothing beats nourishging myself and my family than with hyper local beef that is so well cared for. Thanks Grama for all that you and your team does!
