It’s a very up and down store over time as managers change. My visit today was okay. Easy in and out and two people were pleasant (that’s good!) Found what I needed and a good clearance price on something. Sometimes this store is fine and sometimes it’s terrible.
We drove an hour away and spent nearly a grand on this hit water heater only to find out when we got it home that it was dented as heck inside the box. If you buy an appliance here, I really recommend tearing coverings away to fully inspect before driving it home.
After having numerous terrible experiences at the Espanola Lowe’s in the past, we chose Santa Fe for our next project. My dad and I sought out a bathroom vanity and after picking which one we wanted, we found the wonderful associate, Marlena, in plumbing. Let me tell you, this gal knows her stuff, she was quick, safe, and efficient in getting the vanity off the shelf, loading it into our truck, assisting with additional accessories, and answering our questions. She even answered my numerous dumb questions about driving the big lift things and was overall just fun to chat with! Not only was she assisting us for probably 30+ minutes, but she made sure every customer around us during that time found what they were looking for when she could. She also helped my dad navigate and edit his Lowe’s loyalty account when we discovered that someone else’s name was on it and had been using it. Thank you, Marlena, you are an absolute gem, and we were really lucky to be able to work with you! On top of all that we were extremely pleased with our purchase and the vanity looks great! 🙂 1/11/26
This review is only applicable to Lowes appliance delivery and installation services.
Needed a new dishwasher. Normally use their big competitor but the model we wanted was on backorder for several weeks and the price was the same at Lowes. Not available in the store so called and was told they were available in the warehouse system and it would take a week to arrive at the local store. Their website indicated installer would contact us within 1-2 days of local delivery to set installation date.
Delivery to local store took 2.5 weeks. It was over the yearend holidays so I expected a few days longer but this wasn’t even close. Also, no email or text updates on status or expected delivery date. Lowes customer service indicated it was on the way so we decided to wait it out. Two days after local delivery we still had not heard from installer and had several additional interactions with Lowes customer service. Found out there was no option to call installer directly, it was a “don’t call us, we’ll call you” arrangement.
Meanwhile, that model was back in stock at their big competitor. Not in local store but they stated delivery and installation a week from ordering. Lowes was aware we had this option and we were promised “management escalation” and assured of a phone call from installer that day. No contact from installer that day or the next (one week after local delivery). In addition, we had no idea how far out the installation date might have been after initial contact. So, we cancelled the Lowes order and went to their big competitor.
The dishwasher from their big competitor was installed one week after ordering on the date promised. We received frequent updates on status along the way. Not saying everything about Lowes is bad but I certainly would never use them again for appliance delivery and installation services.
ADDING TO THE REVIEW: Les and Monique at Lowe’s on Zafarano are tremendous! They go above and beyond. When our range was not going to be delivered until February 26 (purchased on December 6), Monique and Les delivered it themselves. The people who work at Lowe’s in SF are fantastic! The appliance installation Lowe’s uses is horrific! Beware. Buy your appliances there, but do all you can to skirt the extraordinarily terrible installation services at Lowe’s. (here’s the original review): Emily N. in appliances offers the best, most professional, most knowledgeable and most compassionate customer service of any appliance store I visited when shopping for appliances. (I went to several stores before landing at Lowe’s, and truthfully, I never expected Lowe’s to be “the one.” But with Emily, it was absolutely my top choice.) She knows her stuff! She communicates clearly and listens to your needs. She can pinpoint what might fit your lifestyle and budget, and she does it all with sincere care. This is my first time buying appliances at a “box store.” Lowe’s exceeded my expectations, and Emily N. is a huge part of the reason for that. Looking for appliances?
