   Top notch , dependable work! My backyard is now the envy of all my neighbors . Mark handled everything from the outdoor kitchen and patio design, plans , permits , drainage , and quality work. Super impressed how nice my project came out. Thank you for your expedient and affordable work . Highly recommended.

   We were very pleased with Outdoor Kitchen by Design. Mark was great to work with providing great suggestions without being pushy. He listened to what we wanted and gave great recommendations that matched our style and saved us money for stuff we didn’t want or need. We had some very specific design desires and they built it very much to specification. The project was completed within the time we expected. They were recommended to us from a neighbor. After we saw the work there we decided to go with them.

   I contracted OKbD around the beginning of October 2020 to build an outdoor kitchen for me. I was having some family over for Thanksgiving and wanted it complete by this time. Mark, the owner, came by to give me a general sketch and price, and agreed to the Thanksgiving timeline. After hearing a few other pitches, I went with Mark because he seemed the most genuine and likeable and assured me their work would be top notch.

   I did have some issues, though to be clear Mark did eventually resolve them all. For one, the fridge I’d picked out became out of stock when it was time to order it – COVID, so understandable. Unfortunately, the closest version was hundreds more dollars, which Mark graciously absorbed the cost on.

   Next, the first contractor was having some personal issues that spilt over into their work. By the Thanksgiving deadline, the outdoor kitchen was functional and ‘complete’, but had glaring workmanship issues. There was uneven trim, hammer marks in multiple areas, and nail heads sticking out. It was certainly not the workmanship I’d expected when agreeing to work with OKbD – see photo.

   Mark came by to collect final payment and after I expressed my disappointment in the finished product, he decided to send a new contractor to repair the issues. The second contractor spent another two days fixing the issues, and got it to a place where we were much happier. There are still a few very minor cosmetic issues we were told would be corrected, but are ultimately happy with the finished product.

   I attached two photos – one of the kitchen as it was on Thanksgiving, and the other which shows it after the workmanship issues were resolved. I appreciated Mark’s willingness to make the issues right, despite it eating into his bottom line. I also appreciated his meeting the Thanksgiving deadline. I did feel the negative aspects of my build were more of a one-off, and not necessarily the experience an average customer of OKbD would have. Reflecting upon the whole experience, I’d certainly consider Mark for future jobs.

   Mark and his guys did an amazing job!!! Converted my outdoor into paradise!! My son was getting married and we wanted it done before out of town guest showed up and they made it happen!! If your going to have an outdoor kitchen done. Please do yourself a favor and us these guys.

   Great design, great results, really nice people. We love grilling throughout the year, so getting the right outdoor kitchen in our new home was important to us. After checking out several in the Jacksonville and St Augustine area, we chose Outdoor Kitchens by Design. Mark, his son, and their team are great. A Outdoor executed install, on time and on budget. It all works perfectly. Highly recommend these folk, you’ll be glad that you did.
