CLEVELAND — An initiative that brings fathers and their children together through gardening is set to celebrate its first harvest.

The Fatherhood Greenhouse gives children and their fathers a chance to learn new skills, explore healthy habits and connect through a shared activity.
Families usually adopt a garden to tend to, resulting in a variety of vegetables, herbs and other plants.
“We designed the Fatherhood Greenhouse to be a space where fathers and their children can build memories, confidence and skills side-by-side,” said Al Grimes, Director of the Cuyahoga County Fatherhood Initiative. “This first harvest is more than a collection of vegetables – it’s a celebration of the bonds being strengthened and the pride these families have cultivated together.”
The first harvest will occur at the Fatherhood Greenhouse at 11401 East 114 Street on Dec. 10 at noon.
