   Can’t say enough wonderful things about Zee and Mary at AWDS. I used AWDS for the 900-sf redwood deck I installed at my home many years ago. Hard to believe that I got 30 years out of it, but after many repairs, the deck needed replacing. I talked to Zee and he pointed me to Envision Ridge Premium composite deck. I did my own research on Lowes and Home Depot products, and I am very glad I went with Envision. It has not been hot on our bare feet and the slip resistance is fine. There were several issues involved with the existing sub-framing and a portion of the existing redwood deck that was under an overhang, protected from weather, and still in good shape. Big problem there, because the redwood is 1-1/2” thick and composite is 7/8” thick. Zee helped me through this issue along with many other issues I had with end gaps, color selection (thank you Mary – the lighter color picture framing looks awesome), how to handle edge conditions, and on-and-on. You see, I am a novice and the only deck I have worked on is my own. I called Zee at least five times for advice and he always picked up the phone or got back to me within a day or two. There was an issue with getting a particular board length that held up delivery for a week, so he provided me an advance delivery of the boards I needed to set up the outline of the deck and swim spa, keeping me on schedule. These folks mostly work with contractors, so I am grateful that they would work with a homeowner. I hope I am not setting up Zee with too many expectations, but he was a blessing to me. Thank you Zee and Mary – the photos are a testament to your customer service and willingness to share your knowledge.

   I am so glad I found Austin Wholesale Decking, this family run business has been here for 32 years and helped me with the different options for my deck. Not only did I save myself from making a bad mistake but I really learned the difference between the different options. Thank you!

   My parents purchased decking materials a while back, and due to unfortunate health reasons (cancer and following chemo therapy) were unable to move forward with the project. They never received the materials, and I have been trying to get a refund on behalf of my parents for 3 years now – lots of calls, meeting in person and ‘hand shake agreements’ never followed through on. I hope to get this resolved but I dont know what else I can do. This has been very disappointing to my parents, especially as they have been going through this very tough time.

   I agree that the 8 foot fence that I had them install was a little costly, but having better quality cedar that’s thicker and straighter than other retailers was a must for me. “Z” made it a point to make sure that the quality of workmanship by his employees was to mine and two other neighbors satisfaction. I highly recommend them.
   P.S. They mill their own wood so quality control is better than others.

   I’d walked in once before to grab some 2x6x16 cedar boards to build a canoe.

   I went back Monday to order some cedar for a pergola. I didn’t see much outside, so I went in and she told me they get deliveries every other day. I ordered $2500 worth of cedar around noon, and she threw in free delivery. It arrived the next day around 5pm. The boards looked nice too.
