I had an excellent experience working with Yair and Dr Deck, who built a truly outstanding deck for my home. I initially contacted Yair through Yelp, and he responded immediately to schedule an on-site walkthrough and provide an estimate.
The project involved rebuilding an upper main deck, a lower deck, and two sets of stairs using composite materials (Trex/TimberTech). Because of the unique design of the house and lot, all elements were irregularly shaped, so I specifically wanted a true deck specialist. Yair quickly provided a detailed and competitive quote, offered expert guidance on design and construction details, and brought material samples to help with selections. His pricing was the most competitive given the scope of work, and he committed to an aggressive one-month timeline that was my hard deadline to ensure the deck would be completed in time for Christmas holiday parties.
Yair’s five-person crew arrived on time every day, kept the site clean at the end of each shift, and demonstrated exceptional attention to detail. The workmanship was excellent throughout: hidden clip systems were used for a clean, screwless look across the deck surfaces, countersunk plugs were used along the borders, and all cuts and measurements were precise. As someone who works in real estate development and is very detail-oriented about construction quality, I was extremely impressed with the final result.
Additionally, the team went above and beyond by reinforcing the foundation and underlying framing to prevent future settling, rather than relying solely on the original footings that had been compromised by termite damage. Yair was on site daily to supervise the work and provide expert input on several challenging transitions and angles created by the home’s layout.
The project was completed in just 12 working days—ahead of the planned 15-day schedule—with no cost overruns. Overall, I highly recommend Dr Deck to anyone looking for high-quality craftsmanship, professionalism, and reliable execution on a deck project.

Yair (a.k.a. Dr. Deck) rebuilt my deck from the ground up and did a great job. Solid work, everything feels sturdy, and it looks fantastic. Yair was flexible and even worked with some material I already had on hand, which I really appreciated. I was out of town during part of the project, and he delivered progress photos along the way just like he promised. He also pointed me to a good company for the refinishing, which turned out great. They got the job done quickly, and there were no issues with the neighbors. I have never been as impressed with a contractor as I am with Yair and his crew. As a former professional cabinetmaker myself I was seeking an extremely detail oriented contractor to take on my large Ipe deck project. I got bids from 4 high end companies and did site visits with each- not a single one came close in terms of quality.
Was he the cheapest option? No.
Was he the best option? Absolutely.
And to be honest, the top companies were all in the same ballpark. The difference was that Yair had actually read the plans bid correctly. The only changes in price were my actual change orders- other companies overlooked crucial footings, miscalculated Sq. footage etc and ultimately would have likely cost more.
The deck is a work of art and has added massive value and functionality to our home. The installation is flawless. When there were issues with mismatched board widths, Yair and his crew fixed it automatically before I could say a word.
Last bit of praise- Yair is a cool dude and he has impeccable taste in jeans.
Yair did a wonderful job! His crew was clean, knowledgeable, and finished on time. It was hard to find someone who focused deck construction and knew how to work with these materials. Yair knew exactly what the project needed to turn out beautiful. We love our new deck!
