   I regret to share my experience with Living Water, which did not meet our expectations. After hiring Mark and his team for design work and investing nearly $13,000, we anticipated a tailored approach that aligned with our vision and budget.

   During our initial discussions, my wife and I clearly communicated a budget of $70,000 for the landscaping project. However, we were taken aback when we received an estimate approaching $895,000 plus tax!!! Mark suggested that we break the project into seven phases, each averaging over $125,000.

   When we inquired about the reasoning behind the estimate being so far outside our budget, we received the surprising response that, due to the value of our home, they assumed we did not have any financial concerns. This assumption not only felt presumptuous, but it also highlighted a disconnect between Mark, the owner of Living Water, and us as clients. It felt extremely disrespectful and unprofessional.

   While the design work produced was professional, it did not effectively reflect our multiple discussions or the budget parameters we had set. It felt as though the focus was more on high-end features rather than creating a practical and aesthetically pleasing landscape that we had agreed upon during our initial meetings.

   After voicing all of our concerns to Mark, he assured us that he would revise his designs to more “practical” options that fit our budget. It’s been two months, and we’re still waiting, although we’ve received multiple calls from Mark’s team to pay our final invoice for the expensive design work, which we regretfully paid.

   In conclusion, I cannot recommend Living Water based on our experience. While they may offer creative designs, their inability to listen to their clients’ expectations and budgets, along with communication issues, has been extremely disappointing and frustrating.

   We recently undertook the second small phase in the transformation of our wonderful property in North Santa Fe (Hyde Park Road area). It not only entailed a major rebuild of our coyote fence borderline. Mark and his team found an extraordinary ancient antique gate to replace our frontgate, and what that single design element has done to make our humble abode look like it belongs on Mansion Ridge — only better. While this is a long process for us, every step has been been expertly and beautifully installed and gives us great hope for the future. Incidentally, the crew also did a wise job and improving our wildfire resilience in a way that improved our little forestation grove.

   We’ve been doing business with them for quite a few years. We always found them reliable and they do excellent quality work. They’ve helped us through the years with our irrigation system , tree pruning, ground cover and mole patrol.
   We talked to Mark and Lisa about a 3 year plan to switch to drought resistant plants and a haven for bird and wildlife. Mark is amazing, his knowledge is vast and his ideas merge with ours. He comes up with beautiful designs that fit into our environment. Working with him has been a pleasure. We finished the first phase and are very happy with how our area will appear. Our birds and our views have improved lending to a more open and accessible area.
   We are very happy with the work they have done and are looking forward to next years planting.
   We highly recommend Living Water including Mark and Lisa.

   We’ve been Living Water customers for over 7 years and couldn’t be more happy. Mark, Lisa and the team have always delivered high quality work and been attentive and responsive to our requests. Mark has always helped us decide which plants are best for our location and conditions. I would highly recommend their services.

   Living Water has completely transformed our property into a beautiful, serene oasis.

   They have also simplified our lives by providing and managing all of our yard maintenance, design, landscaping, lighting and water systems.

   We couldn’t be more pleased and we highly recommend Living Water.
