Do not engage this contractor!!! While the owner put together a lovely plan for our side and backyard projects, I believe he took on more than he was capable of performing. We selected him for our project and after a year of working on the plans, approvals and coordinating with another company to perform the screened enclosure. Diego took our deposit, didn’t provide all the materials to complete the project, and didn’t perform the work to build our lanai (lay pavers). We are in the process of taking him to small claims court to retrieve the funds paid for incomplete work. I would not recommend this contractor to anyone.
Outstanding work ethic and creative landscape design. Thanks for your hard work and making our lawn beautiful. Diego and his crew were on time and worked expectditiouly to complete the job in one day. I highly recommend his landscape company and their expertise.
We had just bought the house in New Tampa and the front and backyard needed quite a bit of landscaping. I found NorthStar on Google and I was immediately impressed with the professionalism and transparency around cost etc. They turned the place around. From landscaping to sod installation to lights and artificial turf installation, everything looks just perfect. I continue to get compliments from all the neighbors and friends and family who visit. Would highly recommend them.
I referred NorthStar Landscaping to a family member & their experience with Diego Rodriguez has been absolutely unacceptable. His complete lack of communication, repeated broken promises, and blatant dishonesty about scheduling are beyond unprofessional. A deposit was paid in October 2025 and despite months of delays and excuses he has still failed to return the money. This level of conduct falls far below a trustworthy and reputable contractor. I was required to choose a one star rating in order to post this review-and the details speak for themselves.
After being snubbed by a Landscaping contractor for over a month, by good fortune, my wife and I discovered NorthStar Landscape and Design. Dealing with owner, Diego Rodriguez, was a refreshing experience! Diego was courteous, respectful and actually returned phone calls/text messages in a timely manner! The work performed by NorthStar (and we had a varied scope of work) was excellent, professional and completed within the timeframe promised.
The work crew was courteous and very respectful.
Don’t hesitate to contact Diego for your landscape project; you will be glad you did!
