   I highly recommend Ray, Dave and his crew. We are completely satisfied with our finished product and our patio upgrade is exactly what we wanted. Communication with Ray was seamless and changes made in our design were addressed and implemented with no problems. Ray and his team came up with patio ideas to best fit our yard. Project was completed on time and would definitely use Whelchel Landscape & Construction again.

   Whelchel Landscaping was great to work with from the first interaction with Bill as we went over the design and plant options, to the interactions with the crew as we did final stone placement. They were fair and professional throughout the entire process and the quality of the work was excellent. They kept the site clean every day, and adapted well to minor changes requested during the installation. I would recommend this company for any work you need them to do!

   My wife and I had much of the old existing landscape removed last year in our lower back yard (the yard has a lower level on the south side and an upper level on the West and North sides). We contracted with Whelchel Landscaping to finish the lower backyard demolition so that a new paver patio could be installed. We also had an old retaining wall removed and rebuilt along with steps leading to the upper back yard. The paver patio is large and runs as a walkway from the front drive through to the back yard, proceeding under a covered patio followed further on by another enclosed patio (3 walls), and finally as a walkway to the new steps leading up to the upper back yard. We remodeled the upper North yard, which was originally dirt, into two short, terraced retaining walls in addition to a flagstone walkway that led to the front yard. Finally, the entire front yard was re-rocked with some new plants as well-as the entire lower back yard, which included boulders, trees, plants and a large section of grass with a paver perimeter and irrigation.

   This was a very large construction project. They (Samantha, Ray, Dave, and Isaiah) worked with us from the beginning developing a design for the construction and a phased schedule for accomplishing all the work. The schedule included working around a vacation we had booked earlier, which interrupted the work part way through.

   The result is absolutely gorgeous! The crews (2 for part of the job) arrived promptly every single morning on the job. They were all hard workers performing the various required tasks with only lunch breaks. All facets of the work were professionally accomplished with experienced attention to detail. Sam (Samantha) was wonderful to work with and very patient with the multitude of changes I requested as the project progressed. Each change was coordinated professionally and efficiently incorporated into the design plan. With such a large project performed at an older residence with all its accompanying complexity (buried footings just name one), a few problems did arise, but these were professionally caught, redesigned, and installed as a matter of course.

   I couldn’t be happier with the result. Someday we plan on re-landscaping the upper West back yard and I know that Whelchel will get that job! I highly recommend this company.

   We worked with Kelly Ann, Cory, and their crew and they did a fantastic job on our front yard. Their communication was great and we got to really custom design it to what we wanted it to look like. They helped us choose low maintenance plants too, after we told them we don’t really have green thumbs. They were friendly, super fast, and reasonably priced.

   Bill was a pleasure to work with, he had lots of helpful suggestions and broke out the estimate so we could prioritize the work we had done. Cory and the crew did a great job preparing and graveling our garden areas and driveway. We are very happy with how everything turned out.
