Overall I am incredibly happy with the final results. Omar and Bridget are extremely helpful and responsive. I could text them day or night and they would be available to answer my question. Usually within an hour or so. Omar drew up our vision the same day that he came to our home. If we wanted to change anything after that he was more than flexible and accommodating.
However, I do want to be transparent because there are some things that I would have done differently and want to pass those along to anyone looking to do business with BBQ Islands and Designs.
In our contract, it stated that final payment was due to schedule delivery. At the time of signing that sounded like a fair condition. HOWEVER, in the future I WILL NEVER sign a contract that states that. The reason being is because, although the outdoor kitchen was completed the covering (which was included in the contract) was not installed nor was it scheduled. However we were required to pay in full. As you can imagine, once a company has the full payment they tend to be a little slower to complete the project. This was the case for us anyways. The kitchen delivery was perfect, the workers the delivered it were WONDERFUL. They were clean and efficient. But the patio covering….that is a whole different story.
We ordered the kitchen in February of 2025, our contract stated 8-10 weeks for completion. Our project wasn’t completed until June of 2025. That was incredibly frustrating as it became excuse after excuse; from the guy that he subcontracted to had materials on backorder (since February???), to the contractor was on vacation, to labor issues. And mind you we had no leverage because everything was paid in full. It was INCREDIBLY frustrating especially because we had an outdoor party planned around the kitchen install-thinking we would be safe as 8-10 weeks would put us at completion in May. The party wasn’t until June 29th and our project was literally completed a couple days before!!! I felt like we weren’t a priority which was a bummer because our payments were never late. We paid as scheduled.
To Omar’s credit we were given a windscreen for the in counter fireplace. Like I said earlier we are so pleased with our kitchen, it really has become a great space. Just be mindful about the timeline and the contract as this is a large investment. Learn from my misfortune, I know that it was eventually completed but it felt like more of a hassle then what I signed up for.
Contacted Omar on Facebook to give me an estimate on our backyard kitchen bbq remodel! Omar was fast and responsive. We scheduled for Omar to drop by our house for an estimate. Omar was able to draw out the layout right during the meeting. It fit exactly what we imagined. Omar’s pricing was very competitive and he gave us appliance brand options to select too! We were happy with the quote and put a deposit. Right away Omar’s team started a couple days later. The person who did the construction name was George! He was super professional, experienced and clean! My wife and I could not have been more happier with our selection. We had a birthday party afterward and many people complimented on the kitchen! I wish I had known them sooner and it would have saved me a lot of time! I will recommend George and Omar to everyone I know looking to remodel their outdoor kitchen! They also do outdoor fireplace and seating bench too!
I’m really happy for my courtyard project, they’re very professional, speedy delivery, owner OMAR is fantastic, his assistant Brigette so helpful, highly recommended.
We are super happy with our outdoor kitchen. Iván did an amazing job with the design. He has great reasonable prices and the islands is top quality. Highly reccomended !
I ordered a Barbecue Island and awning on 5/11/23 at the Pomona Fair grounds. As of now 2/9/24 I’m still waiting on Delivery and installation. I’ve paid the Majority of the Contract and Armando and Clemente Continue to lie and make excuses. Stay away from this Company.. Andy C.
