Extremely poor customer service and workmanship. I wouldn’t recommend this company to my worst enemy. The owner, Al, was very difficult to contact. Communication was terrible. When I called him he rarely answered. When I left a voicemail it took him days to respond. Our pool repairs took about 2 months to complete and multiple trips. We were needless to say very disappointed with the service and workmanship. When they cleaned the filter grids they didn’t finish the job properly and replace the DE. Our pool equipment is still leaking and he is claiming he isn’t responsible for it even though it wasn’t leaking in that area before he started the job, so something they did disrupted the seal in the other location. I would have fired him but unfortunately the home warranty company was the one who hired him (Choice Home Warranty). We are trying to get them to remove him from their vendor list so no one else has to suffer like we have.
Update: After Al saw this online review he called me up and was irate, swearing at me, and saying how unfair I was. He also sounded vindictive but then agreed to go back to fix the problem. The next day the motor that he just replaced wouldn’t turn on and the wires to the motor were burned. There is an ongoing criminal investigation into the matter. I’m not a vindictive person but no customer should have to deal with this behavior.
I’ve had American Pools taking care of my pool for the last two months, so far so good.. I always receive notice prior to their arrival, and the technician is very friendly. From what I have seen he has the best rates in town, others want over $75 a month for bi-weekly services ( chemicals not included)…. I’m a happy customer, keep up the good work Al…
I would never recommend this pool service company to anyone! Al was the absolute worst person to get in contact with. He came out initially to assess the problem and he mentioned he would research our heater and get back to us, we never heard from him again. We tried calling him over 5 times trying to get him to come back out and fix the problem. He never returned our call . He was horrible to deal with. Save yourself the headache and go with someone else!!
I have been waiting a whole month for them to repair my pool timer, and of course from Choice home warranty. He came out to check out the problem a month ago, I am still waiting. Every time I call its a new story on why he has not shown up. Choice apparently approved the work order.
POOR SERVICE and DISHONEST! This guy came to my house for a work order service call from our home warranty company. He was more than glad to take the service call fee but would not return my call to do the work estimate which I requested. Also, this guy knew that the home warranty company would not pay for the type of repair needed before hand as he had been doing work for this same home warranty company for many years!
