Echo park Pool is quite old, but clean. They offer private lessons for kids, and the instructors are generally experienced, although some are less so. They do work well with children, but there’s a big downside – there is no fixed instructor. Every time it’s someone new, and they don’t really know what was done in the previous lessons.

My son has been attending for a month. Before, we could book lessons two weeks ahead, and now they changed it to a monthly schedule, but limited it to only 4 lessons per child per month. We used to come 3 times a week, and that really helped with progress. Now it’s basically once a week – how is a child supposed to remember what he did a week ago? There will be no progress this way.

The new schedule is also inconvenient. Lesson times are during school hours or too late in the evening at 7:30 PM, which is when kids are getting ready for bed.

It’s a shame they made these changes. The pool has potential, but the organization is very poor.

I just love it here. It’s clean the people that work here are very nice. I am forgetful and I sometimes forget to bring my dollar with me and they’re just great about letting me take care of it the next time. The water is a good temperature it’s right behind my house. Special lifesaver for me for rehabbing my heart. I’ve been to the Cleveland pool before and I liked it and it’s nice there but this place is hands down like super clean and lots of people swimming laps. Has a cool outdoor feel to it the way it’s set up.

What a great surprise! In LA for a month and was looking for a place for early morning lap swim. They open at 6am and Mon/Wed/Fri all 16 lanes or so are available at that time! $4 admission for adults. Masters comes Tues/Thurs at 6am but only take about half the lanes. Facility is clean, water is perfect temperature and plenty of swim equipment should you need it! The only downside are the locker rooms – showers only stay on for 5 sec and are cold. There’s also a weird notice about no nudity in the locker rooms, but they have changing stalls.

Just recently started coming to this pool and I love it! It’s nice and clean used to go to the one in el Sereno and not so great like here, do recommend this pool it’s an indoor pool to be more specific and prices aren’t high $4 for adults and for kids and teens it’s only $1 for entry.

Affordable, well lit lanes for lap swimming and separate areas for recreational swim. Attentive lifeguards. Fairly empty in the evening (fall and winter, haven’t tried during summer). Classes for swimming and surfing.

    – Free, limited parking
    – Shower available for $1 for non swimmers
