We have been working with GO Designs for 4+ years on a total backyard and pool remodel/repair. The problems were extensive and we were looking for a comprehensive solution. Our major issues were erosion of a steep slope behind our house and a pool that was cracked and leaking. George developed the total plan and we implemented in 3 phases. Pete has been very responsive to any questions or concerns we’ve had through the whole process, even monitoring our irrigation schedules once the plants were in. We just finished the final touches in May (2025) and the results are spectacular. Some of the things I would have said we really didn’t need (like the landscape lighting) have turned out to be my favorite things. We plan on using GO Designs again next year when we tackle the front yard.
I contacted George Ocampo of Go Design two years ago in a last ditch effort to save a large ornamental fountain that another contractor had built only two years earlier. It was a poured concrete pool about 10 feet in diameter with a center sculpture about 6 feet high surrounded by 5 illuminated water jets. Although it looked fine for the first few days after installation, it had been installed without a real filtering system so the water soon became dirty and was virtually uncleanable without draining the whole fountain; it was also installed with all the plumbing visible at the bottom of the pool. The result was so disappointing from my initial image of a sparkling talavera tile Mexican fountain that I was seriously considering just having it removed altogether.
George arrived with a team of specialists in landscaping, construction, and plumbing, listened to my story and conducted an onsite analysis of the situation. He listened carefully to what I was saying and answered my questions fully and honestly. I described to him what I had envisioned, and he promised me he could make it happen.
A few days later, I received a formal bid with a firm price. He started the project a couple of weeks later, and completed it within 3 weeks. All of his staff, from laborer to manager, actually cared and took pride in their work.
Once it was completed and looked exactly as I had envisioned it, they made a maintenance appointment to come back in 30 days to make sure it was still working as promised. They came back twice to make sure it was still working and I was still happy with it.
EIGHTEEN MONTHS LATER, I had a problem with the pump. Although it was past warranty, George still felt responsible, and he replaced it. Not repaired. Replaced.
In summary, I have nothing but good things to say about George and GoDesign. They completed the project on time, for the price they had initially promised – no hidden fees or unexpected extra charges. They cared about what I wanted, and delivered the project they promised. They clearly took pride in their work and understood well the aesthetics of good design.
